Crockpot Chicken Tacos

There’s nothing like coming home from a long day at work and having dinner already prepared for you. With minimal preparation, you can make a delicious Mexican-style meal for your family. The slow cooker does all the work all you have to do is toss it in and  turn it on. After 6 hours of slow cooking, the chicken is so tender and moist that it just falls apart. This recipe isn’t just easy and budget friendly, it’s also low in calories and high in protein. 🙂 If you want to make it even simpler, you can substitute a 1 ounce package of taco seasoning instead of the seasonings that I have listed. Why not make tonight taco night at your house?

When I was working, I used my slow cooker all of the time. I use it rarely now, mostly because I’m home and it’s torture smelling my food cook for 6 or 8 hours. I may put up with it, though, if it means having these tacos for dinner. They sound delicious!

Definitely looks like another winner! I LOVE my crockpot and the more recipes I can use it for, the better!

  13. Amen! I love crockpot recipes. This one looks wonderful, too.

  14. What a good idea — slow simmered chicken in Mexican spices. I’d be tempted to juice a couple of limes in there — probably after the chicken is cooked.

  15. Fabulous – so many lovely flavours and slow cooked dishes are so good!

Great idea but I felt like this turned out very bland. I tried both ways- recipe exact and tried using taco seasoning. Not very tasty and lacked salt. Maybe yours turned out better then mine. I use my crockpot every day- just felt like these needed something extra in them. In fact my kids said they could only taste the cheese inside.

So amazing! My fiance and I love our chicken burritos and since our favorite place closed we’ve been jonesn’ for a replacement. We’ve both declared these to be even better! I’ve made them twice already! Thanks!

  24. EVERYBODY. YALL NEED TO MAKE THIS. NOW.
This is delicious. I didn’t have boneless, skinless chicken breast, so I used two large chicken breast, cut them in half and removed the skin. I used green salsa verde. I also used corn tortillas instead of flour, just cuz I prefer corn.
O.M.G. So good that I can eat them on tortillas with nothing else. The flavor is out of this world.
I wonder if this would work on other meats, like pork or beef, and if so what cuts should I use?
